Sprint Change of Ownership
- Customers trying to change ownership of a Sprint phone line can use the Sprint Change Ownership site to complete the transfer process online
- Once both parties in a Sprint phone transfer have completed their paperwork and sent it in online, it will take about 5 days for Sprint to fully process the request
- To fully process a Sprint line transfer, both the person releasing the line and the person accepting it must have their accounts in good standing (not past due) and active.
During the time the transfer is processing, customers can not make any changes to their plan or upgrades. Once the transfer of a Sprint line is complete, both parties will receive an e-mail confirmation. Sprint phone lines that are on an installment agreement must be completed paid off before the change of ownership can occur. If a customer owes more than one month on their Sprint bill, they can not receive or give away a phone line until that amount is fully paid. For other balances, customers will just need to pay their remaining balance when the phone line is transferred. At that point, they will begin paying their new Sprint rate. To transfer ownership of a Sprint business phone line, the overall process is the same, but there are special forms just for business transfers.
